Pennant Avenue Phase 1

This project was a slight diversion from Team a go-go’s usual portfolio of work - being both architectural and domestic.

The home of a young couple with a small child, Pennant Avenue need to be brought up to date and made suitable for the lives of these busy professionals who both have Cerebral Palsy.

As one of the clients had previously said to us “just because I am in a wheelchair, doesn’t mean I don’t have any taste! We want a trendy house just like any other young couple”

Working closely with Building Control and our chosen contractors, we converted the garage to provide a separate workplace for their consultancy business and landscaped the front of the property to improve access for the clients, their carers and their child.

Fundamentally, this project provided independant access to their home, which the client had never had - always requiring the support of  carers to arrive or leave the premises.

We also drew up plans for a future extension to add an additional bedroom with ensuite and improve accessibility in the kitchen, and gained planning consent for this - see Pennant Avenue Phase 2
