Knowsley Design Festival

Prior to the design of Knowsley’s secondary schools, Team a go-go were approached by School Works to develop and deliver a Design Festival and Architecture Tours with pupils from across the borough.

The Architecture Tours enabled young people to discuss and explore buildings and public spaces, quickly developing a vocabulary that enabled them to broaden their frames of reference, working with Team a go-go to vision learning in their new schools.

The Design Festival that followed, ran across 2 days with 10 workshop leaders, continuing this process. Taking place in Huyton library, this animated an otherwise sedate public space for the 2 days whilst 250 stakeholders including pupils, teachers and school governors, brought together a swarm of exciting ideas.

Team a go-go’s subsequent report and analysis of these events informed Knowsley MBC’s Outline Business Case for their new schools.
