Albemarle Community Education Centre

Completion in the summer of 2010, Albemarle Family Learning Centre was built to offer extended services for children and adult learners within the grounds of Albemarle Primary School in Wimbledon.

Team a go-go worked closely with the school as ‘Design Champion’ to review and improve the initial architectural designs for this off-site construction project.

Within this role, Team a go-go re-worked design and build proposals to provide the client with a specifications package for the commissioning of an ‘offsite’ prefabricated build.These improved specifications, maximised benefits of natural daylight, improved internal space qualities and integrated the interior design and furniture into the build.

The building now responds strongly to the scale and sightlines of children and has a dynamic relationship with the landscaping and site, on which we also advised. Team a go-go have recently been commissioned to provide the loose furniture fit-out to complete the interior of this project prior to its opening in September 2010.
